3. Attain Category A -Research in CHED IQUAME Evaluation.
4. Sustain SUC Level IV status of the University.

Sub-Goal D. Widen Access to Higher Education through Non-Traditional Modes of
Instruction.
1. Promote and implement CHED’s deputized programs of Expanded
Tertiary Education Equivalency and
Accreditation Program (ETEEAP).

DO NOT FOCUS MORE ON ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY BECAUSE AS I HAVE OBSERVE THAT SOME OTHER PROGRAMS ARE NOT THAT UPDATED AND I COULD SEE THAT WITH THIS, THERE IS DISCRIMINATION EXISTING. OTHER COLLEGES ARE COMPETING INSTEAD OF HELPING. SOME COLLEGES ARE MORE UPDATED IN TECHNOLOGY AND THE ADMINISTRATION IS FOCUSING ONLY ON THIS TWO PROGRAMS WHICH WOULD MAKE A GAP WITH THE OTHER COLLEGES.

Goal 2: Pursue Excellence in Research.

1. Create an organizational climate conducive
to research productivity and address the
research priority areas of the six centers:
Engineering and Architecture, Technology,
Advance Science, Mathematics, Marine
Biomodelling and Mariculture, and Policy
Studies, Education and Socio-Economics.

2. Enhance the visibility of MUST in the
national and international research arena.

3. Enhance access to research grants from
external sources (international, national, or
regional research funds).

4. Ensure intellectual property rights registration and licensing agreements
for transfer of technologies.

5. Aim for distinctive research awards.

I WOULD AGREE ON THIS THAT THE UNIVERSITY SHOULD MAKE SOME RESEARCHES THAT WOULD HELP IN THE TEACHING-LEARNING PROCESS OF THE STUDENT IN MUST.

Goal 3: Pursue Excellence in Extension.

1. Develop capability and organizational culture for more productive
extension activities.
2. Utilize research outputs and package technologies.
3. Build up community outreach through community and campus-based
extension projects.
4. Provide consultancy services and expand networks.
5. Aim for distinctive extension awards and implement reward system.

I AGREE ON THIS THAT EVERY ORGANIZATION WITH THE HELP OF THE ADMINISTRATION SHOULD MAKE SOME PRODUCTIVE ACTIVITIES THAT WOULD IMPROVE THAT CAPABILITIES OF THE STUDENTS. COMMUNITY OUTREACH SPECIFICALLY TREE PLANTING SHOULD BE THE ONE OF THE ADVOCACY OF THE SCHOOL FOR THEM TO HELP MOST ESPECIALLY THE ENVIRONMENT. WITH THIS ADVOCACY, CALAMITIES SUCH AS FLASH FLOOD WILL BE MINIMIZED IN DESTROYING THE LIFESTYLE OF THE PEOPLE AROUND THE COMMUNITY. CAMPUS-BASED EXTENSION PROJECTS LIKE THE STUDY SHED WOULD HELP EVERY STUDENT TO MAKE THEIR PROJECTS AND OTHER SCHOOL WORKS.

Goal 4: Establish the Center of Energy and Environment.
1. Create a research think-tank that will address policy and technical issues
related to energy and environment.
2. Become the leading National Research Institute in the fields of energy
and environment.
3. Commercialize sustainable technologies on energy and environment.

I JUST WANT TO COMMENT ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT ONLY. AS WE ALL KNOW THAT WE ARE THE DEADLIEST UNIVERSITY IN TERM OF FLOOD. I AGREE ON THIS AS LONG AS THE FLOOD PROBLEMS ON OUR UNIVERSITY WILL BE SOLVED.

Goal 5: Promote Student Affairs, Welfare and Success.
1. Attract quality entrants to the University.
2. Promote the students’ wholesome and holistic development.
3. Continuously improve student performance in the Professional Regulation
Commission (PRC) proficiency exams.
4. Promote the students’ cultural awareness and appreciation of skills in the
arts.
5. Strengthen the reward system for student achievements.
6. Provide more scholarship grants to deserving students.

THIS IS A GOOD GOAL THAT THE UNIVERSITY WOULD MAKE BECAUSE AS WE CAN SEE THAT OUR SCHOOL IS NOW A UNIVERSITY AND WE STUDENTS AS THE MAIN STAKEHOLDERS OF THE UNIVERSITY, WE SHOULD BE DEVELOPED MORE PHYSICALLY, MENTALLY, SPIRITUALLY, SOCIALLY AND OTHERS. AS A PRODUCT OF MINDANAO UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, WE SHOULD MAKE SURE THAT WE COULD MAKE 100% IN THE PROFICIENCY EXAMINATION OF THE DIFFERENT COLLEGES. IT IS THE ROLE OF EVERY INSTRUCTORS TO MOLD EVERY INDIVIDUAL FOR THEM TO PASS THE LICENSURE EXAMINATION AND AS A STUDENT IT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO STUDY HARD AND FIND GREAT JOB IN THE NEAR FUTURE. LASTLY, ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM, I JUST WANT TO SAY THAT IF POSSIBLE THE ADMINISTRATION WOULD HELP MAYBE HALF OF THE UNIVERSITY POPULATION ESPECIALLY STUDENTS WHO ARE IN NEED TO B GIVEN A SCHOLARSHIP FOR THEM TO FINISH THEIR STUDIES.

Goal 6: Maximize Library and other Resource Support to the
Teaching, Learning, and Research Environment.
1. Upgrade library resources to University standards.
2. Develop and sustain the E-Library.
3. Restructure the library organization and facilities.
4. Produce instructional materials
and manuals.
5. Sustain efforts in resource sharing
and networking activities with
other organizations/institutions.
MUST Goals and Objectives, 2010-2014

"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." A LIBRARY IS A VERY IMPORTANT ASPECT IN THE LEARNING PROCESS OF A CHILD. THE EXTENSIVE GENRE OF CHILDREN'S LITERATURE IS AN ESSENTIAL PART OF THE GROWING UP PROCESS. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FACILITIES IN AN INSTITUTION. THIS COULD HELP THE STUDENTS IN STUDYING THEIR LESSONS AND SEARCHING SOME ASSIGNMENTS AND PROJECTS TO MAKE. AS A STUDENT IN MUST, IT IS A GREAT HELP FOR US THAT YOU WOULD REALLY ENHANCE THE LIBRARY RESOURCES AND OTHERS THAT WOULD HELP IN THE LEARNING PROCESS OF THE STUDENTS.

Goal 7: Implement Massive Infrastructure
Development.
(See Figure 2 on the next page.)
Sub-Goal A. Construct New Buildings.

1. Establish and Equip Laboratories for COD/
COE Programs.
a. Electrical Engineering Laboratory
b. Information Technology Laboratory
c. Mechanical Engineering Laboratory
d. Civil Engineering Laboratory
2. Establish and equip laboratories to sustain the existing programs.

THIS IS THE BEST OF THE STRATEGIC PLAN OF THE UNIVERSITY BECAUSE I AM EXCITED ABOUT THE NEW BUILDINGS AND MAKE SOME RENOVATIONS OF THE OLD ONES. YEARS FROM NOW, WE COULD SEE THE BEST UNIVERSITY IN CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY.

Goal 8: Implement Massive Information and Communications
Technology (ICT) Development.
1. Fully automate management information systems.
2. Upgrade MIS infrastructure (hardware/network capability).
3. Enhance computing facilities in the main and external campuses.
4. Develop technology-enhanced teaching and learning environment.

THE MAIN PURPOSE OF ICT IN EDUCATION MEANS IMPLEMENTING OF ICT EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS IN TEACHING-LEARNING PROCESS AS A MEDIA AND METHODOLOGY. THE PURPOSE OF ICT IN EDUCATION IS GENERALLY TO FAMILIARIZE STUDENTS WITH THE USE AND WORKINGS OF COMPUTERS AND RELATED SOCIAL AND ETHICAL ISSUES. ICT DEVELOPMENT WOULD HELP MOSE ESPECIALLY THE STUDENTS. WITH THIS, STUDENTS COULD RELATE TO THE RUN OF THE TECHNOLOGY ESPECIALLY WHO ARE IN REMOTE AREAS.

Goal 9: Pursue Outstanding Human and Organizational
Development.
Sub-Goal A. Enhance Human Resources
Management.
1. Recruit, retain and develop outstanding
faculty and staff.
2. Promote the health and well-being of the
MUST community .
3. Enhance recognition system for excellent
performance.
4. Improve HR processes, systems and infrastructure to provide high levels
of efficiency, quality and cost-effectiveness.
Sub-Goal B. Ensure Quality in Administration and General Service Delivery.
1. Revise the existing University Code.
2. Implement innovative administrative systems.
3. Maintain excellent physical ambiance of the campus.
Sub-Goal C. Build Institutional Strength and Reputation.
1. Pursue institutional development planning.
2. Create and maintain an organizational culture that supports the vision,
mission, and values of the University.
3. Establish the institutional knowledge and data base system.
4. Ensure smooth flow of University news for internal and external
audiences.
5. Foster good media and public relations.
6. Coordinate the University image building and branding.

IT IS GOOD TO HEAR THAT MUST HAVE MADE THIS KIND OF GOAL BECAUSE WITH THIS, WITH THE NEW BUILD AND RENOVATED MUST, WITHE THE NEW YEAR, WE COULD HAVE GREAT ENVIRONMENT FOR THE STUDENTS THAT WOULD HELP IN THE TEACHING-LEARNING PROCESS.

Goal 10: Ensure more Efficient and Effective Resource
Management and Generation.
1. Manage budget efficiently and effectively to finance the University’s
various programs and projects.
2. Maximize income potentials of income-generating projects.

AS AN 0FFICER OF ONE OF THE ORGANIZATION IN OUR SCHOOL, IT IS GOOD TO HEAR THAT THERE WOULD BE ENOUGH FUNDS FOR THE DIFFERENT PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS THAT WILL BE MAKE. THIS PROJECTS WOULD HELP IN THE DEVELOPMENT
OF AN INDIVIDUAL
.

1. MORE SECURITY INSPECTIONS.
2. STUDENTS SHOULD NOT BE REQUIRED TO PAY THE INTERNET USAGE IN THE E-LIB. FOR THE REASON THAT IF YOU WILL CALCULATE THE PAYMENT PER HOUR IS 20PHP BUT IF YOU EILL COMPARE TO THE OTHER INTERNET CAFE IT WILL COST ONLY 10-15 PESOS WITH GREAT SERVICES OFFERED.
3. THE SCHOOL SHOULD KNOW HOW TO UNDERSTAND THE SITUATION OF THE STUDENTS ESPECIALLY FINANCIALLY.
4. SOME TEACHERS ARE TOO HARSH IN TEACHING THEIR STUDENTS.
5. DO NOT FOCUS MORE ON TECHNOLOGY BUT INSTEAD GIVE AT LEAST A LITTLE BIT IMPORTANCE TO THE EDUCATORS OR THE TEACHERS SOON TO BE.
6. IMPROVE THE SCHOOL'S ENVIRONMENT.

Information Technology as a tool to SUCCESS

Information Technology helps a lot in the field of technology all over the world. Technology is very important for us especially to the student which can save more time and energy in making school works. One thing also is that through technology, we can make our duties easier like those who are working in office. It is possible right now that through technology we can no longer go to our offices to do our duties. It has been my experience that the effective use of technology allows a more equitable expenditure of school district funds. The use of technology, even though viewed by some as expensive and unnecessary, creates a cost-efficient mechanism that gives students access to materials and resources that were previously unavailable. But with the use of computers, we can make some transactions online. On the other hand, technologies have also its disadvantages and problems we encounter.

Here are some problems and solutions to be made on the field of IT in education:

1.) Inadequate financial support
2.) Lack of consensus of curriculum content
3.) Shortage of Tech. Ed. teachers
4.) Inadequate methodological training/in-servicing
5.) Inadequate/inappropriate Tech. Ed. teacher preparation
6.) Inadequate/ineffective leadership within Tech. Ed.
7.) Inaccurate understanding & support of Tech. Ed. by administrators & counselors
8.) Slow transition and retraining of teachers
9.) Insufficient business, industry and parental support
10.) Insufficient quantities of Tech. Ed. teachers and elimination of teacher education programs in Tech. Ed.
11.) Insufficient funding of Tech. Ed. programs
12.) Inadequate involvement of Tech. Ed. personnel in educational reform issues
13.) General populous ignorant regarding technology and the discipline of Tech. Ed.
14.) Elimination of Tech. Ed. programs
15.) Inadequate business & industry support
16.) Inadequate leadership/leadership training for Tech. Ed.
17.) Inferior in-service training
18.) Inappropriate certification procedures

To solve this kind of problems, we, the students, teachers, administrators, local government and national government should help one another to solve such kind of obstacle in IT. We should work hand-in-hand in order for us to survive and cope up with the modernization of our technology. The government should give emphasis to the trend of technology right now. They should provide more computers for the students to use it in terms of school works and for them also to relate and react on what is happening in the field of information technology. Professional development must support teachers as they attempt to implement technology in the most efficient way possible as well as help them identify the most effective curricular models for their classrooms. Participate in staff development activities to become comfortable with and knowledgeable about education technology. Learn how to make education technology an integral part of the curriculum. Engage all students in meaningful tasks and projects that utilize technology tools to promote learning. Collaborate with other teachers and technical support personnel to ensure ease of use in the classroom.

In conclusion, government should set a side funds to the development of our Information Technologies for us to one of the progressive country in terms of information technology.

ICT "Change the World"

Information and Communication Technology or ICT's allow users to participate in a rapidly changing world in which work and other activities are increasingly transformed by access to varied and developing technologies. ICTs have impacted societies on many levels. They have extended the reach of public administration, leading to a centralization of regional management into urban centres They have led to new forms of employment in innovation and production of ICTs and a demand for highly-skilled specialists.

New Zealand has the world's highest access to telecommunications per capita or per head. Research shows that New Zealanders are usually quick to embrace new technology. New Zealanders have been buying computers, signing up to Internet Service Providers (ISPs), and going online at an internationally impressive rate. They are more updated on the new technologies in which they can share it to other New Zealanders from them to have an update about the new technology. For now, they have their Nzi3. This is the national ICT Innovation Institute based at the University of Canterbury. The Institute is a ‘hothouse’ of strategic ICT research and aims to be a globally-recognized innovation center that transforms ideas from the lab, across the innovation gap, into industry. It offers a unique fusion of the best New Zealande's ICT academic expertise with industry-driven research.

Malaysia implemented the first computer system in 1996. They introduced various initiatives to have a great fusion of ICT to improve capacities in every area of life including the enhancement of education. They have what they called “The ministry of education” which sees that ICT as a tool of a grater learning, it is their aim to produce richer curricula, enhanced pedagogies, more effective organizational structures in schools, stronger links between schools and society and the empowerment of learners.

Australia known as a very great area and has a wide population and has long been for its successful distance education programmes which can provide education to those who live in remote place. Australia become a pioneer in using ICT for educational purposes. The key national goal Australia's ICT programmes in schools specifies that: When students leave school, they should…….be confident, creative and productive users of new technologies, particularly information and communication technologies, and understand the impact of those technologies on society. This means that Australians focuses more in their ICT which helps the students and people in Australia be more presumptuous, productive , and informant. They can easily relate and react to the new technologies in which this is effective for them to communicate and find jobs in the near future.

The island city Republic of Singapore may just be one of the most wired places on the planet. Government data state that Singapore’s household Internet penetration rate is the highest in the world at 42 per cent (end 1999). The sign of the Internet is everywhere including buses and taxis plastered with advertisements for dot coms. One of the factors behind Singapore’s success is strong government support for Information and Communication Technology (ICT). This includes the elaboration of a number of plans for developing an intelligent island, backed by concrete programs. It also includes progressive liberalization of the telecommunication industry including the introduction of across-the-board.

The strategy outlines Hong Kong's aims to harness the power of ICT to turn schools into dynamic and innovative learning institutions, where students can become more motivated, inquisitive, creative and independent lifelong learners. ICT elements will be incorporated in the school curriculum, aiming to have at least 25 per cent of the curriculum taught through ICT by 2002/03. The government will provide schools with a threshold level of hardware, technical support and an appropriate network infrastructure for collaboration and communication between the educational sectors and the community. ICT facilities will be progressively increased and the provision of educational software will be more structured.

The Philippines has begun to re-conceptualize the policies and strategies of ICT in education towards life-long learning, in its Information and Communication Technology Plan. With IT involved in education as an enabling and productivity tool that will enhance learner performance, educational efforts will be re-focused on the requirements of the learners and the job market through ICT.Philippines really differs a lot in terms of ICT in other country's for the reason that ICT here in Philippines are not that advanced compared to the five said country's. Philippines have no enough resources for the development of its ICT. Compared to other contry's their technology is more advanced. Like Singapore, they have their computers in school buses wherein students can make use of it. As a whole, Philippines should focused more on ICT development for us to be one of the most progressive country in terms of INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY.
